As we become more aware of ourselves, our health, and the seemingly constant battle to create a good balance in our lives, our own wellbeing is now near the top of our priority list. If it isn’t for you, then it should be!
Let’s face it, life is busy, and it gets increasingly busier as time and society progresses. We work, we pay our bills, we raise our families and support our friends, and there seems to be less and less time for ‘us’. I for one often feel myself sinking underneath the weight of all the responsibilities my life has taken on. I yearn for a little peace, and have determined to dedicate some time every single day for myself. Most days this might only be 10 minutes, but I can use that 10 minutes to benefit my wellbeing. I’ll read a chapter, or take a quick walk. I’ve recently begun reading a book called Meditation for Beginners, and endeavour to incorporate the benefits of meditation into my daily routine.
Crystals for Spiritual, Mental & Physical Healing
Hand in hand with the search for mental peace and balance is the concept of gemstone healing. Crystals are becoming a popular tool used by many to aid them throughout their lives, from finding love to the protection and attracting abundance. I’ve worked with gems for a while but this is a new field for me, and I confess I find it fascinating.
Do I believe wearing an Amethyst bracelet can cure cancer? No, I don’t. Do I believe that wearing that same bracelet can help to release some stress? Yes, I do.
Science or Science-Fiction?
The scientist in me says that it is simply a placebo effect; if we believe it can help, then it will. Albert Einstein said everything in life is vibration, and just like sound waves, your thoughts match the vibrations of everything that manifests in your life. Therefore, if you think crystals have healing potential, the positive vibes of the stones will amplify those thoughts.
But there is also fact behind the myth, because it’s true that crystals produce electricity when under pressure. It is called the piezoelectric effect. A French physicist called Pierre Curie discovered this, and it’s why they are used in TVs, chips, watches and all sorts of electrical devices. The idea is that is a crystal can help a watch to keep time, or a computer to store energy, then they can also help us. If it’s possible for crystals to communicate through computer chips, then isn’t it possible that this vibrational energy could be transformed in other ways?
My Own Experience
I started as a non-believer, but now my mind is open and I am willing to try. I have no desire to sway you one way or the other, but I have had some experiences with crystals which are worth sharing!
My Son’s Headache
When my boy was about 6 years old he woke up at about 10pm one night, complaining of his first headache. He’s been poorly so infrequently that I had nothing in the house, and he wasn’t in vast amounts of pain, so I thought I would give it a try. I had him watch me as I quickly made a bracelet for him – Lapis Lazuli for the pain and Aquamarine to help soothe him, because he was going through a blue phase. As I made his bracelet, and let him pick his stones, I explained all about the different vibrations of crystals and how some people believed they could heal. We spoke about the science behind it. He mentioned how nice the stones felt in his hand.
He put it on without complaint, and I tucked him back into bed. He was still complaining of his headache, but he was willing to try. I read him a quick story, then popped to the kitchen for a cup of water, and when I got back to him he was fast asleep. He had such a peaceful look on his face.
It was late and he was tired, that may be why he fell asleep so quickly. It may have been the placebo effect of hearing that it would make him better. Or it may have been the soothing presence of the gemstones on his skin. I don’t know, but I do know that it in no way hurt him or made the situation worse. I am willing to believe the bracelet helped!
My Lovelife
Not so long ago I embarked on a relationship with a wonderful man who, despite telling me how much he loved me, would not commit. So I told him that this couldn’t go on, and we decided to end the relationship. This happened not long after I started learning about healing crystals, so I thought I would ‘give it a try’ and made myself a Love Bracelet – Rose Quartz and Rhodochrosite with clear Quartz to boost their energy. It wasn’t so much for him, but more to help me feel more attractive after giving him up.
He had always been averse to showing feelings in public, and we never held hands. We never embraced on the street. He had never shown me any affection in public. But the very first day of seeing him whilst wearing my new bracelet, despite this previous behaviour and the fact that our relationship had ended, he grabbed my hand as we walked. He held me close. He hugged me. He messaged me all day. He told me he couldn’t bear the thought of not having me in his life. I was genuinely blown away by the force of his feelings.
It wasn’t our first breakup but he’d never had such regret before, and part of me does believe it was the bracelet which opened his heart to me!
If you are like me then you’ll need to open your heart and mind to the power of healing gems, and this can take some effort. But with a little faith, and a willingness to try, who knows what good they can do for you?
This is why I’ve now made it easier to search for jewellery which may suit your Wellbeing needs. Are you hoping to bring a little more love or romance into your best friend’s life? Or give your wealth a crystal boost? Or help your child sleep? Or try something to help ease those recurring headaches? Perhaps these crystals can help.
