Description

This necklace is quite striking, if only for the great contrast between the very dark almost black blue of the Sandstone, and the bright Silver daisy beads between the stones.  It is on a double chain which further emphasises the contrast.  The gems feature a subtle sparkle which looks wonderful in candle or lamp-light.  They are in a graduating pattern, adding further interest to this piece.  The pendant drops from a Silver knot and features a trio of coordinating stones.

Approx 19″ / 48cm long ‘Princess’ necklace.  This style is designed to sit on or just below the collar bone, and the pendant will drop about 1.5″ lower.

Sterling silver findings and toggle clasp.

Collection: Susan B Anthony

Note: the necklace in the images has been sold, however another can be made to a similar design.  The gems will be the same, but the silver ornate knot will be replaced with a Sterling Celtic knot (pictured below).

BeeJewelled’s necklace ranges are named after those influential and important women we have looked up to throughout history.

Born in the 1820s, Susan B Anthony was a social reformer and women’s rights activist who played a pivotal role in the women’s suffrage movement.  She came from a Quaker family committed to social equality and collected anti-slavery petitions at the tender age of 17.  In 1856, she became the New York state agent for the American Anti-Slavery Society.

When she first began campaigning for women’s rights, Susan was harshly ridiculed and accused of trying to destroy the institution of marriage.  However public perception of her changed radically during her lifetime, and her 80th birthday was celebrated in the White House at the invitation of President William McKinley.  She became the first woman to be depicted on U.S. coinage when her portrait appeared on the 1979 dollar coin!  We owe her and her ilk a lot.

Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing less.

All metal findings, chains, clasps and earring hooks are the finest 925 Sterling silver, sourced from the UK. Unless stated otherwise.

Due to the nature of handmade, your jewellery may be slightly different to that in the images, however the essential design will be the same.

The materials I use are entirely natural, with differing shapes, sizes and colours. Some may have small natural inclusions or be more segmented with patches of differing hues, meaning that each is beautifully unique.
